PROCLAMATION OF MY EMANCIPATION I proclaim my emancipation I state without hesitation My freedom goes beyond this alien nation Freedom comes from inside of me Not from a piece of paper signed by men who weren't free from their own tyranny Red white and blue The Colors of freedom? That depends on how you see them Reservations, plantations and internment camps for our people Was God there when they preached destiny from the building with the steeple? Freedom isn't confined by borders on maps It's more than a state of being It's a state of mind believing is seeing Look at me I am Free Free to think Free to do Free to speak my mind Free from limitations others seem to find Free to accept my freedom From the hair on my head to the soles of my feet I proclaim my emancipation For my freedom goes beyond this alien nation Dennis A.
