On November 7, we will elect people who will make decisions that affect our lives. They will make decisions that affect our health care, our jobs, our taxes, our public safety, our schools, our roads, our water and air, our economic growth and our quality of life. Currently we are dealing with all sorts important issues like police brutality, racial profiling, the building of prisons, unfair sentencing, housing shortages, rent control, and drug policies to name a few. The next President will most likely be able to appoint 3-4 new Supreme Court Justices who serve for life. Imagine if these Justices embrace and rule on policies we don't agree with? Their rulings could impact us for years to come.
Whether or not we choose to participate in an election by voting doesn't matter because there will definitely be people who show up to the polls to vote on all these critical issues come November 7th.. Their decision will impact you even if you decided voting was a waste of time. Hence its best for all of us to get educated on the issues and make sure our voices are heard. [Top of page] Next Page
