Killa Beez
'The Sting'
[Koch]

7.5

One thing we should always remember is NEVER to sleep on The Wu. In my humble opinion a lot of folks did just that with respect to this latest offering-Killa Beez. Here RZA highlights the non marquee players of the Wu Family including Cali based Black Knights and North Star. Other cats like Shyheim,Lord Superb, War Cloud, and Suga Bang bang get to shine. They even have a cut featuring Cappadonna who we thought was banned from the Wu. Legendary singer Isaac Hayes comes through and blesses Killa Beez with some haunting vocals on 'Odyssey'. Still another cut features Fat Joe who appears with RZA on a cut called 'La Rhumba'. Hayes and Fat Joe appear to be the only non Wu members to spit on this 2 cd LP.

As for the overall content, the beats are vintage Wu and although they have become familiar sounds in the Hip Hop musical landscape, they don't grow weary or sound played out. These up and coming emcees deliver some nice rhymes Overall the album is good.. Sorry to see it was slept on..

Stand out cuts songs include: 'Digi-Electronics', 'Rolling','Killa Beez', 'Spit That G' and 'Out Think Me Now'
