Vote or Die versus FREEDOM or Death
The late, great full time THUG and part time REVOLUTIONARY, Tupac Shakur once made a brilliant analogy of how the Republicans and Democrats are rival gangs. While this may be written off by some of the elders as nothing but that ole Hippity Hoppity mumbo jumbo, this analogy makes perfectly good sense when analyzed within a discussion of the color wars that have been waged within the Black community....

The One and Only Kanye West Hater-What Do U Think?
So what kind of message is this supposed to send to the community? To the struggling minorities? Does Kanye--"The College Dropout" himself--know that he's not rich? To quote Chris Rock, he may be "rich" but he isn't "wealthy" like the "white man". Does Kanye know that the boss behind his boss, behind his boss, behind his boss, is the one who is signing his checks, and that guy probably has a college degree? Is his album supposed to be a satire on "Consumer America" and the "Loop of College Life" that gets us back to square one?

Hip Hop Community:
Vote For Kerry Like Your Life Depends On It
Welcome to the real world Hip Hoppers. We don't have the power we think we do. WE don't have the strategies we need to win. We are newbies to the political fight and this is our first reality check. Hip Hop is not going to save the world- know this.

End SHIT-POP and Bring Back HIP-HOP
Hip Hop; The hard thing about the unity we once had in Hip Hop is that there was an out side party that did not want unity among us. Why, because unity also means that your people can¡¦t be divided. Without division they can¡¦t infiltrate. Without infiltration there is no control of that people. Without control of the people they won¡¦t make a big profit on what it is the people naturally creates. If this keeps on some body is going to be assed all the way out

Mixed Message by Hip-Hop Vote Organizers
In this election year we have seen a force of rap and hip-hop artists join forces to get out the vote. They are trying to get our vote registered and out. Sounds like a great idea, or are some using it as an advertising agent for themselves?
I have been one to think that Sean ‘Puffy’ Combs doesn’t do anything unless it benefits Sean ‘Puffy’ Combs.

An Open Letter to Nelly About Pimp Juice Scholarships
This whole thing seems like a parody on Black life. Did somebody make a bet that that they could take "pimpjuice" this far and now they’re laughing their as* off all the way to the bank? Is Nelly just uninformed or is he a selfish negro selling-out the culture and his/our/my children's future? Is there some slave master-type white boy (or girl) with money and a monkey on a leash pulling the strings?

Central Intelligence:
A Look at Hip Hop As a Messiah
It is naïve to think that Hiphop culture within the United States in its
present mainstream incarnations is a viable candidate for an empowerment
movement. Firstly, consumer power doesn’t equate to political power. It is
true that economics directs politics and that consumer power can be read as
economic strength, but this is merely potential energy, not kinetic

Who will get the Hip Hop Vote?
Now that both the Republican and Democratic National conventions are over, one of the undecided issues that both of the conventions failed to address is how they will reach out to young voters and in particular Hip Hop generation voters.

Will the Hip Hop Generation Go Green?
Yes, say urban third party advocates, who are beginning to reach out to new constituencies like working-class African-Americans. In April 2004, a group of African-Americans hosted a forum called "Why We Joined the Green Party" in an Oakland church hall. The room was filled not just with African-Americans but local citizens of all races, some of them party members and activists, others distinctly skeptical.

Why We (Hip Hop) Shouldn't Vote For John Kerry
When I say to hip-hop kids that perhaps we shouldn’t vote for John Kerry, the universal first response is raised eyebrows. Then come a flurry of questions, mostly critical and heartfelt ones. These are reactions I’ve come to be expect, especially from a left leaning emerging voting bloc...

Why Hip Hop Should Vote?
Did it ever cross anyone’s mind that young people, specifically young whites are a lot more conservative than they pretend to be? Did it ever cross the HSAN or Citizen Change’s minds that they were registering almost as many Republicans as Democrats? Has it ever crossed anyone’s mind that Hollywood (or would they not) is only liberal in public when they have something to sell or when it’s safe to be so and quite the opposite behind closed-doors? Did it ever cross anyone’s mind that almost half the kids who claim to be down for hip-hop, down for inner city youth, down for Blacks and Latinos, etc. would actually go into the booth on Nov. 2nd and pull the switch for the GOP

Hip Hop Republicans and Hip Hop Democrats
With all this in mind, the question that many may have is, are there any Hip Hop Republicans? Are any of our well known Hip Hop stars pulling for George Bush?
In the past we were made of aware of Hip Hop Republicans like Bill Stephany, a founding member of Public Enemy and later Soul Records which was home to acts like the Young Black Teenagers and Son of Berserk.

John McWhorter Says Hip Hop Must Be Stopped
McWhorter finds the music pernicious and humiliating. He thinks of it as the musical manifestation of the worst traits of black America, particularly, and America generally. He says so often, in the opinion and editorial pages of the New York Times, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal, among other major publications; in the pages of several best-selling books with leading titles like Losing the Race: Self-Sabotage in Black America and Doing Our Own Thing: The Degradation of Language and Music and Why We Should, Like, Care; and on television and radio shows across the country. He has few allies on the public stage. But then he never expected to be loved for his views....

Free JDee Cooper He is Innocent
O'Shea "Ice Cube" Jackson left me for dead due to
negative publicity. The record label, East-West/Time

claim to do Pro-Bono work. But no one likes

Vote and Die.. Is P-Diddy Wrong About Voting?
Rapper P. Diddy and actor Ben Affleck have something in common other than the asinine Jennifer Lopez. At Mr. Diddy's instigation, Affleck and a posse of "sexy people," as Diddy referred to their defining attribute, have joined together to persuade "young people and minorities" (not to be confused with white, older people who shoulder the tax burden) to vote.

I Am Hip Hop: Is This Flawed Philosophy?
One of the more disturbing ideas proposed in your
philosophy is that in order to BE "Hip Hop" one should
consider giving up who they originally claimed
themselves to be (African, Jewish, Irish, Japanese,
Christian, Native American etc.) . However, almost
everything "Hip Hop" now is something else from some
other culture, that was deemed "Hip Hop" later.

KRS-One Responds To Adissa's Flawed Philosophy Challenge
Before I consider accepting your offer to debate the; I am Hiphop philosophy at the Riekes Center for Human Enhancement, let me be sure that you truly understand the position that you are taking, and how you may be setting yourself up for a public spanking. I am truly in awe of your blindness! It is as if someone is putting you up to this. Be honest, are these your concerns or are you simply representing the insecurities of others? As a thinking man you cannot be serious
