Beanie Sigel

'The Truth' [Roc-A-fella]

7.5

Cool Album..from this South Philly Native..The question everyone wants to know is the heir to Jay-Z's throne?

Beanie Sigel has been establishing himself as an emcee who can hang with the best of them over the past couple of years. His appearances on various Jay-Z tracks got everyone's appetite wet. His ability to spit genuine street rhymes got headz even more hyped. After all, Beanie is from that part of town and you could just tell from listening he's been through some things-Hence he wasn't faking the funk on many of the ventures he raps about. That of course explains the title of his album 'The Truth'. So with his debut album everyone wants to know if he delivers?

Without a doubt, Beanie comes through. You will not be disppointed. Standout cuts like 'Who Want What,' M'ack & Brad' featuring Scarface, 'Ride 4 My' and 'Die' give this album its edge. Couple that with established tracks like 'What A Thug About' and 'The Truth' and you have a nice album worth purchasing..
