There's been an awful lot of conversation about Haystak.. a 'countrified' white kid from Tennesee who is supposed to be the next big thing.. I gotta be honest initially I wasn't too impressed. I'm not really into the whole dirty south sound so there is already a bias.. But I tried to listen with an open mind and an open air..
It took a couple of listens to really appreciate Haystak. He spends a lot of time being reflective and letting all of us know some of the things he went through while coming up.. Songs like 'Different Kinda Lady' , 'Life With No Crime' , 'Cool People' and 'Dirty Dirty'. are in that vein.
Other songs like 'Tonight's The Night', 'Fucked Up' , 'We Get Them' and 'Ain't Talking 'Bout Nothing' are more hype and provide you with a good reason to bob your head....
Another standout song is 'You Can't Stop It' and 'Oh My God' which features fellow countrified rapper Bubba Sparxx.
Bottomline: Haystak may soon be stacking bills instead of hay. Its for those who are into country sound...
