If 2Pac Were Alive Today

Where Would He Be ?

letter #10

If 2pac were still alive, he probably would have been disenchanted with Death Row Records shortly after the release of his Makaveli album. After all, a disenchanted Dr Dre bounced from Death Row and started Aftermath Records, and Pac would have probably followed suite considering Death Row wasn't paying him the money he deserved. He might have started his own label, or signed with Dre, and continued to be a superstar MC who could not be confined to any media imposed genre category. Considering how amazingly prolific (so far I have found 17 unreleased 2pac albums online, and Daz Dillinger claimed that there is enough unreleased 2pac material to put out Pac albums for at least another 10 years in __the_Rolling_Stone__ magazine) he would undoubtedly continue to rip song after song, ranging in topics from story telling songs, political songs, angry songs, sad songs, party songs, MC battle songs, thug songs, etc.

Pac was so full of passion that he could and would convey any emotion he felt and put it in a song, and do so in a very powerful manner. With all his passion Pac would probably be involved in politics. And if he blew up independently of a sheisty record label, Pac would have some serious bank with which to influence politics. Pac's brilliant passion and creative lyricism would be a beacon of light in todays hip hop which is over-crowded with MCs lacking creative talent. He undoubtedly would have continued to influence his audience, bringing issues pertaining to the Black struggle to audiences beyond the Black community, fostering understanding as opposed to media induced stereotypes, and thus bridging gaps. He had the talent to be embraced by the mainstream, commercial hip hop culture and yet bring the world his revolutionary, compassionate, and political message. This is very rarely done in popular culture, and Pac would have continued to do this if he were still alive. Pac would have taken on more movie rolls, and made more money, and as he grew in power, he undoubtedly would have become increasingly influential in politics. I say this is undoubtable because if you just listen to Pac's lyrics it is clear that he was strongly concerned with the well being of the oppressed.
